ON THE BORDER BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER AND RECOVERY OF MONTENEGRO. ARE WE ON TIME?

The Third Forum of the School of Political Studies called „On the border between the ecological disaster and the recovery of Montenegro. Are we on time?“ begins today; it will take place in Ulcinj in hotel „Plaza“.
The event is organized by the School of Political Studies in cooperation with the Bankwatch Network, and with the support of the Ministry of Capital Investments and GIZ. Participants will include students of the 20th jubilee generation of the School of Political Studies and representatives of the Green Parliamentary Group.

The Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and the director of the School of Political Studies Milan Radović will open the Forum today with their introductory speeches, and after that an expert on energy and climate change will hold an introductory lecture on the topic „Development of the national energy and climate plan“.

On the second day of the Forum, Biljana Gligorić from the non-governmental organization „Expeditio“ will speak about the implementation of laws and directives of the European Union concerning the energy efficiency sector, while the mechanisms for improving air quality in Montenegro will be discussed by civil and environmental activist Aleksandar Dragićević and Nataša Kovačević from Bankwatch Network.

On Saturday, a visit to the Ulcinj Salina and a discussion with Darko Saveljić on the topic of the Citizens’ initiative related to the right to environmental protection are also planned.

On the third day of the Forum, Jelena Peruničić from GIZ will speak about waste management and the problem of sea pollution with plastic. A tour of Valdanos and a discussion with the deputy and a member of the Green Parliamentary Group Genci Nimanbegu and the civic activist Džemal Perović about the activities for the protection of olive groves are planned as well.
