Announcement: Call for Initiatives – World Forum for Democracy 2024

Theme: Democracy and Diversity – Can We Transcend the Divides? November 6 – 8, 2024

We are excited to share the news that the World Forum for Democracy 2024 is now accepting initiatives! Organized by the Council of Europe, this prestigious event serves as a key platform for global dialogue and democratic participation.

The World Forum for Democracy is known for bringing together thinkers, policymakers, and civil society representatives to address the urgent challenges facing democracy today. Focused on innovative solutions and constructive dialogue, the Forum aims to promote democratic principles and foster inclusive structures and institutions worldwide.

Key focus areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Depolarization of elections and promotion of collaborative democracy
  • Countering disinformation and polarizing political narratives
  • Encouraging significant civic engagement and empowering marginalized groups
  • Promoting diversity management and social inclusion
  • Advancing innovative approaches to political decision-making

Submit your initiative

Organizations from around the world are invited to submit their innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing democracy and contributing to sustainable peace under the theme “Democracy and Diversity – Can We Transcend the Divides?” Submissions from any public or private organization should be made by completing the questionnaire in the attachment and sending it to [email protected] by May 17, 2024.

Benefits

Selected representatives will have the opportunity to present their initiatives at the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg. Travel and accommodation expenses may be covered for selected participants.
